How to develop a new marketing strategy
Nothing is permanent except change. – Heraclitus a Greek Philosopher
Everything changes. Old night must give way to a new dawn. We humans are no different. People change, and so do consumers. We must move and adapt to the new changes. There is no other way to stay relevant and competitive. Marketing strategies that worked well for decades are now evolving.
What can you do to stay relevant and interesting to customers?
There is plenty of competition out there. How do you stand out? Is your mission just selling or creating a positive change of value for consumers?
Let us try to understand what is a new marketing strategy.
1. Selling is not the objective
It’s time we move past a sale and work to create a positive impact that makes difference in the long term. Be a solution provider, the go-to guy for a customer in whatever field you are in. Trust plays a very important role. Ability is more important.
2. Social World
Being Social is in Human Nature for decades. It’s more evident now, thanks to technology. Make sure to share your services and make a positive impact. Get noticed the right way. Get people to talk about you. For that, you need to be interested in others. Old rule but still works. Consumers talk to each other more than they see adverts. Adverts are passive, Real conversation is where the action is. What are you doing to be worthy of being talked about amongst your consumers? Engage with customers by talking on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and Youtube.
3. Have a storyteller in your company
Make sure you make yourself more interesting to a customer. How you can do it? Be different. There are a lot of wonderfully gifted people in your company. Identify them, and empower them to be your company evangelists. Let them spread your services to the world in their own way. Everyone has different personalities. This is what makes storytelling unique. Make use of their natural instincts.
4. Test. Test. Test…
What is a marketing strategy? Nobody knows exactly. There is no perfect answer. The only way to know it is test test test… It’s a process where you improve by practicing.
